| On April 0f 2011 a hail storm went through and damaged my roof. I called the adjuster to come out to access the damage and he looked at my roof and determined that it was partially damaged and would not pay to replace the entire roof. Shawn Mullen, the owner came to my door after asking if I needed help with his services. He looked at the roof and said i should try again to get the adjuster to come out and reassess the damage. Both insurance company and contractor were there this time and he was able to work with the insurance company to make sure everyone was on the same page ultimately making homeowner, insurance company and contractor satisfied with the decision. |
| Shawn took the time to go over each step of the process and even offered to help me take my pictures down from the wall because there would be vibrating possible knocking my art work from my home? Wow, impressive! At that moment i didn't feel like a job but he actually took my best interest at heart. The first day on the job he was there with his crew. His crew was there on time and worked early in the morning until there was no more light to work. They were professional and polite cleaning up after themselves every day. The job was done in a timely manner with out any surprises that I was used to with other contractors. | "In Spring of 2011, we decided it was time to get our roof replaced. We had received hail damage from a recent storm and, although the roof was old and rather worn, we thought it best to file a claim in case at least part of the cost could be covered. The adjuster told us of a few companies he had heard does good work, Royal Exteriors being one of them. |
| Shawn was very straightforward from the beginning about his assessment of the damage. Despite the age of the roof, he felt there was enough new damage to warrant payment. The insurance company initially denied the claim, so Shawn met with a second adjuster, going over each of his findings and convincing the insurance company to cover the cost When the claim was approved, the Royal Exterior's crews quickly replaced the roof, fascia and soffit, doing an excellent job without leaving a mess behind. We were highly satisfied with the quality of the work and the service Shawn provided. Throughout the process, Shawn listened to what we wanted, communicated promptly and honestly, and did the work necessary within budget. |

| "We contracted Shawn (the owner of Royal Exteriors) to perform house repairs after a major hail storm. We had no prior experience with him nor any references, but he was by far the most responsive of the contractors we contacted. We met with him soon after the insurance adjuster had inspected our house and returned a settlement that would replace the shingles on our roof. He performed a detailed inspection and found much more damage. He contacted our insurance company and, they sent a second set of adjusters to confirm Shawn's findings. |
| They agreed with everything that he found, and the settlement almost doubled, allowing us to replace our roof, siding, gutters and skylight. Shawn met with us a few more times to help us select a color for the shingles and the siding. He was extremely helpful and responsive in this process. A couple of times, he even visited houses that we suggested to him so that he could see the "look" and colors that we found attractive. He then helped us find those colors. He made many suggestions that we hadn't thought of. For example, an inexpensive addition was to add recessed lighting in the new soffit in front of our garage and over our porch. The effect is stunning and it wouldn't have happened without Shawn's suggestion. |
| Shawn took care of every minute detail, from caulking seams to contracting someone to replace our storm door, to running to Menards for a coupling to attach our downspout to the yard drain correctly. We didn't have to think about anything except about how we wanted our house to look. This was our first time as homeowners dealing with the insurance company and Shawn helped us a tremendous amount through this process, including advice for small details like how to process the settlement checks efficiently at the bank. |
